HBX Wins GDUSA Design Awards!

HBX is excited to announce we've been awarded 2022 American Graphic Design Awards from GDUSA, the nation's leading B2B source for graphic design professionals. Among the 3,000 entries submitted for GDUSA's 59th Anniversary Package Design Awards Competition, only the top 10% were selected as winners, including:

GUUD Modern Muesli Cereal - Wins Best Packaging Design Award

Formerly known as Evoke Healthy Foods, partnered with HBX to relaunch their line of modern muesli cereal. To align with consumer's priorities of health, convenience and flavor and to establish a dynamic trade story, HBX refreshed the brand identity with a name, tagline, look & feel, communication hierarchy and product segmentation strategy.

GOOD DOG by Wellness - Wins Best Packaging Design Award

Wellness Pet Company collaborated with HBX to develop their new line of dog treats for an exclusive launch with Walmart, slated for Spring 2022. HBX took a modern, clean and playful aesthetic design to bring to life the natural and nutritious ingredients used to make the treats and to celebrate all the positive and feel-good emotions that are at the core of the pet and pet parent relationship.

HBX was awarded five 2021 American Graphic Design Awards from GDUSA, among the 10,000+ entries submitted across 28 categories this year! Our five 2021 American Graphic Design Awards, include:

Lundberg Family Farms - Wins Best Logo and Packaging Design Award

To reflect the brand's distinct personality and its core attributes of healthy, premium foods, HBX modernized the brand identity with a fresher, cleaner logo referencing Lundberg's origins while allowing for a broader application. The packaging design pivots towards a similar, brighter aesthetic that celebrates the product and the brand. HBX then applied the new brand architecture across Lundberg's bulk rice, sides and innovations like Mini Rice Cakes and more.

Ferrara Candy Company - Nerds Wins Best Candy Package Design Award

To maintain the heritage of the brand while introducing Nerds characters to a new generation of candy lovers, HBX created a big, colorful world for the Nerds to live in. The simplified and flexible new architecture - with eye-catching blue brandmark of the perfectly imperfect shape of the candy and playful placements of the curious Nerds characters - creates a pop at shelf and supports future extensions, shapes and innovations.

Martha Stewart Foods - Wins Best Package Design Award

To support the launch of Martha Stewart's first premium food line, HBX developed a clean, modern architecture that reflects Martha's iconic positioning and separates itself from other competitors on shelf. The mouth-watering, tasty ingredients are made hero and complimented with a simple communication hierarchy to deliver key claims and flavor cues.

Plant Perks - Wins Best Package Redesign Award

To celebrate the high-quality ingredients, HBX brings to life flavor using a vibrant, illustrative style that is optimistic and approachable, while also informative. A bold brand architecture was created to be instantly recognizable as well as applicable for future extensions.

Wellness Core - Wins Best eComm Panel Design Award

Following a successful packaging launch, HBX leveraged key design cues and extended them into infographics to create a stoppable and shoppable online experience. Using catchy headlines, short form text and impactful visuals, HBX positioned the product as a solution creating a tangible value for pet parents and pets alike.

The American Graphic Design Awards is GDUSA's flagship contest celebrates the best-in-class design firms, and agencies, in-house departments, institutions, associations and more. It honors outstanding work of all kinds, including the best designs of the year in print, packaging, p-o-p, internet, interactive, video and more. Winners received an engraved and embossed Certificate of Excellence for each winning piece and will be featured in the GDUSA Awards Annual in print, online, digital and mobile- seen by over 100,000 colleagues and clients each year.
